Frequently Asked Questions

Who comes for counselling?
Just about anyone. Young, old, male, female, gay, straight, trans ... You do not need to be in crisis.

What are the symptoms that indicate I may benefit from counselling?
Loss of appetite for life, feeling there must be more to life than this, depression, anxiety, anger, inability to cope, or a conscious desire for self-development.

Do you counsel couples?
No. At present, I only counsel individuals about their relationship difficulties.

Is counselling confidential?
Yes. However, in line with best counselling practice, I present my work to a supervisor. Your anonymity would be respected throughout this process.

How often does it take place?
Counselling normally takes place once a week. Spiritual Direction normally takes place once a month.

How long does it take?
Some people come for just a few sessions to talk through a particular issue that is challenging them in the present. Other people come to explore more deeply the reasons behind patterns of behaviour which may have been troubling them for years. The important thing is to find what is right for you, and we would discuss this at our initial meeting. I sometimes suggest that we agree to meet for six sessions and then discuss the next step.

When are you available?
My appointments are normally 11am, 12pm, 5pm or 6pm Monday to Thursday. Please phone 07910 503372 or click on the email link above.

Where are you?
I work online and from my home in Westerham, 10 minutes from either J5 or J6 of the M25.

My Counselling fee is £55 in per 50 minute session. I also offer some sessions at a concessionary rate. Please contact me for details. I offer Spiritual Direction on a donations basis, depending on ability to pay. My suggested range is £25-55.
